The Budokwai at Benihana Kings Road

Last week #TheBudokwai was delighted to celebrate the twinning of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with Fukushima, Japan. Fukushima will be the host region to #TeamGB at the #Tokyo2020 #Olympics British and Japanese students exchanged cultural activities which included #dance and #poetry. Everyone enjoyed the exquisite Japanese cuisine courtesy of #Benihana #KingsRoad

Success at Kent International

Congratulations to all the Budokwai Judoka who took part in the Kent International. 

 

Maella, Olivia, Tybalt, Evangelos and Tess all got 5th place, Sofia won bronze and Ben, Mario and Mahmoud won silver.

Congratulations to Kyle Perry on winning silver at the Zuidland Open in Rotterdam. 


Former Budokwai Aikido sensei John Cornish dies

The Budokwai was saddened to hear of the death of former Aikido sensei John Cornish. 

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. 


Success at the British Schools Championships

On the 17th and 18th of March the EIS Sheffield held the British Schools Championships. 

Congratulations to Rei, Maelle, Olivia and to Uri and Omar who both took bronze.

Southern Area Competition

Congratulations to our Judo squad who won 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the Southern Area Competition at K2 sports centre in Crawley.

Success at The National Championships

Sensei Stevenson and Sensei Mesa Rey took 9 judoka from the Budokwai to the National Championships on the first weekend of December.

Abdulatif, Ben, Mario and Sofia all won bronze medals!
